Every year on Founder’s Day, Seinan Gakuin recognizes faculty and staff members who have been employed 10, 20, 30, or 40 years.
On May 14, 1999, I was one of the people recognized for 30 years of service, and the picture below is of the “Certificate of Commendation” I received at the Founder’s Day service. It says that I had contributed “meritorious service” to Seinan Gakuin since September 1968.
At that time I was in my third year as Chancellor of Seinan Gakuin, and I had given a formal address in the ceremony. But my recognition was the same, as it should have been, as for all the others who had worked at Seinan for 30 years.
